MU Researchers Found Plagiarizing
An article was retracted last week that was found to be plagiarized by two MU researchers. The
retraction of the article was done by the American Journal of the Medical Sciences. The article was
found plagiarized by two researchers who apparently stole content from an article that was written in
2006.
The article found plagiarized was written by two researchers named Amar Jadhav and Anand
Chockalingam. The article was on the topic of “Ventricular Ectopic Beats: An Overview of
Management Considerations.”
According to the retraction that was done last week, the article had the same content as an article that
was published in the journal, “Heart.”
The officials of MU were made aware of the plagiarism as early as July 3rd. On August 3rd, MU
officials had assigned the investigation to an inquiry committee. The inquiry committee is responsible
for investigating the charges and making a final decision on what will be done to the two researchers.
The reason for the month long wait for the investigation is because of absences.
Nothing has been done to the two researchers yet and they will remain employed during the
investigation of the alleged plagiarism. It is possible they will be suspended or fired upon the final
findings of the investigation.
